After studying entertainment law and literature at Freiburg im Breisgau, Cologne and Strasbourg, Daniel Baur expanded his education in film production with a Masters in Audiovisual Management at the respected Media Business School in Spain. This was followed by an internship in the entertainment division of Deutsche Bank and the copyright department of the European Commission in 2001.

Since then Daniel has consulted on the packaging and financing of more than 50 international feature films. He worked on the packaging, financing and production of films such as Robert Altman’s "The Company" produced by Killer Films, Robert Towne’s "Ask The Dust" produced by Tom Cruise and Paula Wagner and "The Punisher" starring John Travolta. Daniel also co-produced "Eulogy" starring Debra Winger and Famke Janssen produced by Steven Haft.

In January 2006 Daniel joined Oliver Simon at K5 Film as a partner and producer. Since then they have built up the company and created new ventures such as K5 International, Nowtilus, abnormalnet.com, K5 Independent and K5 Media Capital. Daniel Baur and Oliver Simon produced several movies together. For example "Get Low" starring Bill Murray, Robert Duvall and Sissy Spacek.
